Prof. Paulo Sergio S. Negrete | Deblocking Method

In 1999, I received my first training in Suggestopedia ™ and Desuggestopedia, and in 2000, my final training in Vienna, at the International Center for Desuggestology (click here), and in Tokyo by Dr. Georgi Lozanov, Ph.D., M.D (click here).

Since Suggestopedia was presented at UNESCO in 1978 (click here), many adaptations were needed to correct the critics on the final report issued by UNESCO (click here). Even with the critics and observations, the method was still considered superior to any other existing.

Dr. Lozanov always said during my training that Suggestopedia was a science, and as such, new developments should be expected. and scientists were needed to develop it.

Between 2000 to 2014 I wrote several books on the method (please see below), and created a new development, called “Neuropedia – The Deblocking Method” and "Accelerated Language Acquisition (ALA)", for teachers, educators, and researchers in general.

I taught English using both variants of the method – Suggestopedia/Desuggestopedia, until 2011 when I finally had enough scientific results. Neuropedia – The Deblocking Method corrects the critics and observations made by UNESCO in 1978, and adds new discoveries on neuroscience over the last decades.

Neuropedia – The Deblocking Method is suitable to be applied in all fields of education, especially in language learning.

I opened my own business in 1991 and created my own teaching method, which was applied in several multinational companies until 1998.

In 2017, after a robbery at my home, and being held hostage for hours, I decided to move to my grandfather´s land, Portugal. I closed my school Idiomos Aprendizagem Acelerada in Brazil and moved to Portugal at the beginning of 2019 under my residency visa. I opened another Language Academy, Chapman Inglês Acelerado, and have pursued my passion, which is to teach and train teachers in the method. In Portugal and in Brazil, I have been known as Teacher John Chapman, the alias I have used as a professor.

In November 2020, I received the Quality Award, in São Paulo, Brazil, for my efforts in developing a new learning system. See the video below.

In 2021 and 2022,  I was selected to be one of the judges of the international education award, ´Reimagine Education´, held by the University of Pennsylvania (Whorton School) and QS Intelligence, in the UK.

In 2021 and 2022, Portuguese newspapers published articles about me and my work. See below.

In 2022, I was awarded the prize as the BEST BRAZILIAN ENTREPRENEUR IN EUROPE by High Profile Magazine, from the UK. The Award Ceremony was inside the Eiffel Tower and given by the hands of the businesswoman and philanthropist Queen Diambi, from Kongo.

In June 2023, I was invited and became the education columnist for Jornal Olhar Brasileiro em Portugal, which is the fortnightly supplement of Diário do Minho, one of the largest newspapers in the northern region of Portugal.

In May 2023, I was invited again to be one of the judges of the international education award, ´Reimagine Education´, held by the University of Pennsylvania (Whorton School) and QS Intelligence, in the UK, in October 2023.

​

In October 2023, my educational project "Deblocking Method - Accelerating the Learning Process" was shortlisted for the SCIENCE OF LEARNING AWARD, by Reimagine Education & Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania), which will take place in Abu Dhabi on Dec 13, 2023.
